Having identified the opportunity, the next challenge was obvious.

How do you build a national media network without asking independent retailers to become media owners?

There have been businesses that have explored this opportunity before, and some continue to do so today. But I believed the model needed to work differently.

High Street Media was built around one simple principle.

Remove the risk for the retailer.

  • Retailers shouldn’t have to find advertisers.
  • They shouldn’t have to manage campaigns.
  • They shouldn’t have to maintain technology or negotiate with media agencies.
  • Their priority is serving customers and running successful businesses.

Our job is everything else.

  • We install, manage, and maintain the equipment.
  • We measure audiences.
  • We deliver campaigns.
  • We work with agencies, advertisers, and technology partners.

The retailer simply provides the location and continues doing what they do best. The result is a partnership where everyone benefits.

  • Retailers gain an additional revenue stream.
  • Advertisers gain access to premium town and city centre audiences.
  • Communities benefit from modern, professionally managed digital communications that enhance the retail environment.

Our success isn’t measured by the number of screens we deploy. It’s measured by the success of the retailers who place their trust in us.

That philosophy continues to guide every decision we make.

In the final part of this series, I’ll share how that vision has grown into a network that has now delivered more than 75 million audience impressions in just six months.
